Not a DD but not a drag queen either. Will be driving it alot more on the street vs track. At first I was pretty set on a SS3600 but after researching I really like the sound of the PT4000 because I wanted a stall that would be a beast up top as well as give a decent 60'. But im afraid of how loose its gonna be on the street. Like I said, its gonna be my first stalled car, so im a little in the dark what would be right for me. The stalls im considering are SS3600, SS4000, PT4000, and on a smaller scale SS3200.

ya a cheap stall is going to suck on the street get a good one go about 3600 on a bolt on only car 3400 would probably be perfect. 4k is just too much for a street car in most situations with street tires .

PT4000 stalls a little lower behind a stock head and cam car, yank says its around 3600. SS will have better drivability than a PT due to the higher torque multiplication (STR). PT converters are more efficient on the top end however. take a look on youtube there is plenty of videos of PT converters showing drivability.

SS3200 seems to be a popular choice for the street, from everything I have read the others might be too much and hurt drivability, except maybe the SS3600.

Wow! The opinions over here are alot different than over at ls1 tech. Most over there say AT LEAST a 3600.

that is because LS1tech is all about every last tenth at the track, same dipshits who put T-rex cams in a DD and then bitch, or a Victor intake on a stock cube engine and wonder why it drives like crap, but damn they get their dyno numbers
